Hello I’m Rhiannon!

I’m a children’s illustrator and author based on the sunny shores of a Kentish seaside town. I studied an MA in Illustration at Camberwell UAL and have been illustrating books for children for 5 years now. My first illustrated picture book, ‘A Hug for You’ won the An Post Irish Book of the Year in 2021, and I’ve since been lucky enough to work for the likes of Penguin, Scholastic, Oxford University Press, Tate Publishing, and Andersen Press.

I explore both precision and freedom in my work, creating my illustrations with traditional media. I like to maintain the organic quality of the brushstrokes, creating rich, painterly textures that contrast with soft pencil details.

My first authored book, Indigo Irvine, was published this year by Tate Publishing. Writing stories is a quiet passion of mine; I have numerous notebooks with stories and characters looking for a home.

Community and inclusivity are really important to me. I want to make books that are entertaining, fun, and foster a lifelong love of reading. I also want to make books that children can identify with and learn from. A mixture of both would be ideal!

I am represented by Georgia Tourney at The Bright Agency. If you have a project you think I might be suited for, you can get in touch with her here.
